Glebe House Museum & Gertrude Jekyll Garden
Set in picturesque Litchfield Hills within historic Woodbury's village center, the Glebe House is one of the earliest historic house museums in the nation. Its architecture, outstanding regional furniture collection, and delightful Gertrude Jekyll Garden give visitors a sense of what life was like in the 18th century. This historic gem offers tours, educational programs, and special events.
DiGrazia Vineyard
This quaint and scenic family-owned (and dog-friendly) vineyard is a daytrip away in Brookfield, Connecticut. Currently offering group tours upon appointment, DiGrazia produces a variety of white wines (Seyval Blanc, Vidal Blanc, LaCross, Niagara, Elvira, and Catawba) as well as reds: (St. Croix, Frontenac, and Leon Millot). In summer, DiGrazia offers tastings, guided tours, and has a lovely outdoor picnic area to enjoy the countryside with friends.
The History of Southbury
With origins dating back to 1673, the Southbury area has always been known for its agriculture, natural beauty, and hospitality toward travelers. Southbury became an important source of support for General Washington’s army, supplying militia volunteers, food, and supplies.
