Check out some of our favorite places and activities our city has to offer to make memories, relax, bask in the greatness of nature, and get quite a dose of culture as well.
As the fourth largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area, Fremont’s Silicon Valley location is the ideal place to make your home. In fact, The Mercury News, a local news source, recently named Fremont “the happiest city in the United States”. It’s one of the reasons we chose this area for our senior living community.
Neighborhood Highlights

East Bay Regional Park
These local parklands help preserve the natural beauty that makes the Bay Area such a desirable place to live. They provide habitat for wildlife, including many rare and endangered species. Whether you enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, picnicking, or just relaxing in beautiful natural surroundings, this is the park for you.

Niles Film Museum
This must-see museum is dedicated to all aspects of film from the silent area, and is located in a historic film theater. During a tour, you can see silent era projectors, cameras, photographs, movie posters, among many other items. In addition, the theater is now open and screening films. Don't miss it!

Museum of Local History
Our museum’s mission is to preserve Southern Alameda County (Fremont, Newark, and Union City) memories, documents, artifacts, and structures from the past and share them with present and future generations. The Museum and California native garden is open every Wednesday and the second Sunday of each month from 10 am – 4 pm as well as Fridays from 1-5 pm.

About Fremont
In 1797, Spaniard Father Fermin de Lasuen founded Mission San Jose, the 14th California Mission – located about 15 miles northeast of the Pueblo of San Jose near the foot of Mission Peak (an area that locals and visitors now know well as a hiking mecca). Mission San Jose survives today as a reminder of Fremont’s rich Spanish heritage and a memorial to the thousands of Native Americans who lived, worked, and died there.
Did you know? Fremont’s Niles district became the earliest home to California's motion picture industry. In fact, Academy Award winning actor, director, and screenwriter, Charlie Chaplin filmed several movies in the Fremont area, most notably The Tramp.

An undeniably unique Bay Area community.
